Yep, sign me up for 30 minutes of cab bouncing cardio, minus the air stepper... Aw heck, 10 minutes will probably do it.
That would make sense to someone who does not regularly excersize ... but not to so eone who regularly excersizes.... if I go a few days without I feel sluggish.... I know it is a hard concept for those who dont excersize... but excersize gives you more energy... so often after a long day is when I look forward to my excersize... also, if I am driving and feel tired.. I will stop at a rest area or somewhere and excersize a bit... it akes me up and gives me energy... I do a couple different kinds of excersize routines... I do weights for muscle tone a couple times a week, theother days I mix it up with cardio or some stretching like yoga.... lately I have gotten into resistance bands... I like them.. The thing is... start where you are and with what you can do... dont set yourself up for failure... if you are not currently regularly excersizing now... then try to start with a 30 minute work out... start with a quick 5 minute work out in the morning.. can be as simple as just walking or even just doing some are circles... your still doi g more excersize then you were and your body will respond... do it every morning for a week and you will see... all you need to do is make a start... when I started years ago I started with doing 10 minutes every other morning on a treadmill... but I started to feel better and so I added a simple dumbell workout two days a week, on the days I wasnt on the treadmill.. again my body felt better, had more energy and loomed better... so I just kept increasing my excersizes.. I still switch it up... when I can I go and swim laps.. I enjoy jogging or bike riding... I tried some of those workout cds where you dance your ### off... some I like.. some have cracked me up... like when I got my first yoga tape... trying do do some of those poses... I knew I looked as silly as I felt... For those who dont excersize.... I wish I could somehow make you feel how good it feels when you regularly excersize.. because then you would want to do it... it makes me feel better, physically, mentally, emotionally and even spiritually.... I am happier and healther when I excersize.... and when I dont I am slugglish and unhappy.
excellent post. That 3.5 mile skateboard trip (both ways so 7 miles) really kicked my ###. But now i am back in my sleeper and i feel amazing. I need to make a habit of this admittedly i havent been.
I bring hand weights in the truck with me .. Make a point 20 mins aday/& or threw out the day weighting at a dock at tyms.. I also walk & stretch a lot!! Only eat out 1or twice a wk.. If u r Otr.. U need fridge microwave. & most important George Forman grill.. Gd luck stay moving!! Swollen legs mean your not moving around enoug!!
Good advice. I definitely will walk at , the end of the day. I like the bike idea. I think I will get one When I get my own truck.
When I was on the road, I bought TRX suspension straps...you can pretty much tie off anywhere and get an all around workout. It uses your own body weight. You start off easy and work your way up to a full hard core workout.. Great product, not cheap but worth the cost. Take my advice, if you buy these make sure you get them right from TRX. There are a lot of knockoffs that rip/tear on you.
There's plenty of time to exercise everyday if drivers had the ambition to do so.If they have time to sit in their trk at trk stops and watch the ppl and traffic then they have time to get out and do alittle walking them selves.Same with sitting at the dock for hrs.Make yourself useful drivers and get out and walk around, get the blood flowing.
