Point being, it is just a matter of time until the same thing happens to VOLVO

    Hi, I have a Mack SXU VISION 2014 with motor D13 MP8.
I have a leak in the exhaust leak with the smell of oil and gasoline
I have checked the head and the turbo, and both are good
Does anyone know what else should I check?

My husband died because of a manifold exhaust leak. He was driving a kenworth dump truck. I have read that the placement of the manifold being directly underneath the passenger seat causes these fumes to go directly into the cab. The owner of the truck refused to fix it. Therefore, my husband and father of my children is dead. To make it even worse, his boss, which is the owner refused to file an accident report and left me with no way to even bury my husband.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a D13 in a Volvo 780, which had work done on the exhaust manifold, shop replaced the gaskets and evidently who did that didn't tighten the bolts or something. Lots of loose bolts and an extreme exhaust leak coming off backside of the turbo. I imagine that could affect fuel economy?
