    Been here 2 years now.

Been through 4 trucks, and on my 5th.
This one is a 2013 Volvo, brand new when I got it.

I had a few lemons before this, to be sure.

Some new drivers luck out and get a new truck from the git-go.
But most will recycle the older stuff before they are trusted with the newer.

I am a new driver for swift out of the Denver terminal, they said to expect to be in a used freightliner Cascadia or or used Volvo, but looking over and around the Denver yard i seen a ton of international pro stars.
When i was at the Phoenix terminal for my driver training, they had around 40 brand spanking new freighters (getting prepped for flat bed mainly) and purple Volvos getting ready for the ready line

I'm wondering about something. Not real long ago a member here worked for Swift awhile and didn't seem to mind it,except she left as every time she took some time off she had to wait for another truck to become available. Some of the 'wait times' became longer than the time she took off. Has this practice of slip-seating been discontinued?

Guess it all depends they let me take trk home twice but not anymore. Now I gotta leave trk at terminal if I take more then 2 days off. When I'm rdy to come back from hometime I gotta call to get on the list for a trk, and I live 100 miles from terminal. I know people who started same time as me and take trk home 3 days and get away with it. But my dm says terminal manager and CEO rules more then 2 days u give up trk. But I really wonder,

    Bumpy Thanks this.

Not for me, for me its the mileage, the new truck it's a benefit (if you can get one)

"We were told no trucks go home for days off" unless you are 100 miles or more away from the terminal and had a "legal and secure place to park the truck and trailer"
But then again this is what we were told in orientation

    Bumpy Thanks this.

Mileage means nothing so long as you have a good mechanic and a good maintenance record
