I have a feeling that with your positive attitude and willingness to succeed, you'll go very far and the sky is the limit. Nobody was born perfect and we all have our quirks that make us the people we are. Keep pushing. Keep striving for better. I bet you can do a lot more than you can even dream of. Don't ever say you can't. Because with the attitude you have, you can. A lot of us have faith in you and you'll do fine no matter what road you decide to take. You've got a lot of friends here.

    .

How do you find the addresses without screwing up and getting in a pinch???

Always call the companies and double check the address. ask them for directions from the closest highway.

How do you deal with all the loneliness one gets out there??

talk to drivers on the cb. phone a friend listen to the radio

    How do not get lost???

a good map. again call for directions. learn how to read the map and understand if your into gps try that but again make sure its a good route as they tend to put drivers on roads they are not allowed

How do you not get all emotional when the times arise??

go into the bunk bounce around and off the walls brush hair ande go to wor

How do you become self sufficent and learn to rely on yourself??

experance.....faith in your skills but dont become ####y thats when you really screw it up

Seriously, this thread does not need your sort of attitude.

Challenger - Keep at it, it takes all sorts to make the world go 'round. Often the biggest obstacles we must overcome is ourselves.

Google maps helps me a lot, along with street view and calling the customer

I'm more of a loner anyway, so being out by myself is ok to me. Though sometimes it's nice to have in person interaction with other people

I just follow road signs and my atlas, I've never gotten lost so bad I couldn't find my way back to where I was going. I've missed plenty of turns but found my way to where I need to be with my atlas

It's hard not to get emotional when things don't go your way, I've learned to roll with it. Nothing in trucking is certain.

I just take into account that my paycheck relays on how much I want to run. Then I go from there

I have an adopted son with Asperger's. When I came into his life, he was 10 and we didn't have a diagnosis till he was 15. But, we knew he had his own way and his own strengths and weaknesses. I used to tell him that some things are going to be more difficult for you to do than it is for others. That does not give you an excuse not to do them, it only means you will have to try harder than others to accomplish certain things. However, you have certain traits which are natural and specific to you that are leagues ahead of others and you will be able to do some things much much better than most. The trick is to find your specific strengths and if you are able use them to your advantage. However, never back down from something because it is harder for you than for others. Also, don't beat yourself up. Your happiness and success is completely in your hands, you will just have to find your own road, as the road others use probably won't work well for you.
Anyway, he found his niche. He is 22 now and owns his own business. He is an absolute master with gun stocking work. At 17 I saw him, using only hand tools, cut out a bad plug of wood in a gun stock, make a new piece to fit in its place and when it was finished you would have thought the plug was done by a 60 year old man who had 45 years of experience doing this kind of work. Folks from all over the world send him gun stocks to repair and refinish. He makes a decent living, the quality of his work is phenomenal and he is able to live life according to his rules.
I can't directly answer the questions asked. But, my experience with my son leads me believe that a person with Asperger's can be just as successful as anyone. Especially if they can gleam their specific talents and work with them.
Best of luck to you, if you want to do this, you can. Some things may be harder for you than for others, but you can still do them. Others things, you will walk circles around us 'normal' folk!

I appreciate all the help. To me sky is the limit. There is no such words or thing as give up and quit. I believe as I get older, I will mature. The one goal I have is ween and become more self sufficent from my dad. I love that man to death. Hes taught me the meaning of having pride.

My next questions which may call for a different thread but I think they fit a place here:

How do deal with a trainer or tell if a trainer wants to use you as a book???
If you were me, how would would you prevent yourself from being used???
Is it true, the law will not be followed to the T???

When I was with my trainer he was in the jump seat while I drove and vice versa. I wouldn't let a trainer use me and if I was a trainer I wouldn't be running the truck as a team, that's not training in my eyes.

Hopefully the company has policies in place preventing that. We had numbers to call to speak to someone if a trainer wasn't following what a trainer should be doing. You should be able to tell someone in the office about it and get a new trainer if that were to happen.

Honestly my trainer and I followed the law, now when you go solo, you will be put in certain situations where you can't control running out of hours at a customer that doesn't allow parking and things like that.

there seem to be some very helpful posts on here especially Palazon. just utilize all the tools you have and Do Not rely on a non truck GPS. just as becoming familiar with anything else it takes time and as u work through each situation your confidence will build. God bless.
P.S. on a personal note i am new to msg boards. How do i start a thread of my own on here?

well it depends on what subject you are wanting to discuss......then you find the appropriate (like bad/ or good trucking company etc) then at the top of that section, it will give u a tab to post a new thread...
