Plan A, Plan B, and maybe a C. Pay attention, listen to radio and look for backups/weather etc so you reroute quickly & get around issues. Call ahead see if they take you early when you check in to get info from them. Park at shipper/receiver if possible. I park at coops too because there's usually a spot. If your squared away there's nothing to worry about. I eat in the truck and don't stop much. If I do its not at a gridlocked fuel stop. I wake up every day at 3am even at home. And if i do stay at a ts i do my 15 min pre trip, get fuel and haul ###.... I've been run into 3 times in last 8 years while in sleeper. Park nose in and let the dumbo run into your trailer instead. So i avoid the circus whenever possible. Used elogs since 2010 and make money. New pc regs will help no doubt but I won't abuse it. 600-650 miles a day on elogs is a good day depending on schedule/location.

Since the fed has implemented and allowed us to use line 5, Personal Conveyance, the ELD is just a minor annoyance. Used it Thursday night when I ran out of hours while loading. No place to park at the shipper and closest truck stop was 50 miles away. I can live with mine.
kurbski Thanks this. -
I've ran out of hours 30 to 60 minutes from my terminal a few times. Kept right on going. When asked about it I just said oops. Try not to let it happen again. Not going to sleep in the truck 30 miles from home.
