I have only been to a couple of them, the first one was when i got off to go to a Loves right before entering Nevada, I used the curb on part of it to get through. What makes them a pain in the ### is only the 4 wheelers, if it wasnt for them I wouldnt mind them.

As Big Don said, there are places where they aren't well understood, and the people using them in those places tend to make bad choices. I still stand by what I said, the people using them in that situation would probably still have trouble no matter what was there.

Dangerous and badly designed things tend to get fixed after awhile, as to if they get fixed right or not is why we have disagreements.

Always enjoy driving in town making laps through 8-12 round-abouts all day.

Best advice i received is "always use the available space". That staement works for a lot of driving senarios.

They love them here in WA too, they are replacing many on/of ramp intersections from the freeways with double roundabouts.
Highyway 14 has one like this where I have to exit to get to the Georgia Pacific paper mill in Camas, what a PITA.

Here's a dandy at Woodland, WA (exit 22 I-5) with 3 of them, have fun getting to the CFN if you're Northbound lol, you get to do all 3.

I went out of route on one about 3 weeks ago, was following the GPS and misunderstood the street to get off on and went to the wrong turn off, had to find a spot about 4 miles down the road I could make a Uturn and go back and do the roundabout again correctly. I have to learn to stop listening to the stupid GPS and read my maps more :p

In Iowa, particularly in Des Moines, there are a lot of cars that run stop signs and smack into a semi, and the car occupants are DOA. The round abouts force the drivers to slow down, espescially in somewhat rural areas of light traffic but everyone drives 60 mph, and seem to pay little attention to stop signs. My brother-in-law was a deputy there and had a lot of gruesome pics of burned out cars etc. after hitting a semi tractor in the fuel tank and the resulting fire always cremated the car occupants.
