The REAL training has begun. Three days waiting on "any minute now" is gonna be a large part of life for both of you. There will be times when he is due home in a couple of days and the shipper responsible for getting him back to you forgets he is backed into the dock and goes home for the night. Yep, that has happened to me too. Perhaps weather is the culprit and he sits for two days in Salt Lake City, drives the newly opened road for a few short hours and finds the road in WY has just been closed AGAIN. Three day trip turns into a six day BS marathon sitting in truck stops if lucky and in a snow storm along side the interstate if he isn't. That also has happened to a lot of us. So much of this job is putting up with things that have no apparent rhyme or reason.

    Best of luck.

Appreciate the responses. The good news is that his trainer seems like a decent guy, which after being educated by this site, seems to be an important factor. He is 28 and has been driving with Werner for 5 years. Two of the first things he told my husband were... He will allow him to drive as much as permitted so he can get the experience to be out on his own and that he showers every day. :biggrin_2559:
