I just replaced one on my new to me trailer. Pretty sure it was original. Top was painted the same color as trailer. Be 10 years old. Was so rusted out. The bag was still good but it rusted a hole thru the top plate. Never seen that before.

Oops. I have to open my third bottle now.
Just to keep up with you, young gents.
    Otherwise, I might fall behind.
    Cheers.

You can bet the two on the back axle aren't far behind.

I did one on my back axle, and it was in such rough shape, did the other three, and the two on the cab.

I put rear bags on my trailer because they were leaking at the top. Once I got them off, there were three holes in the plate. One was almost as big as a pea! From what I read here on TTR, the rubber bag usually lasts longer than the plate.

Driveline angle makes sense, especially if your leveling valve is on the rear axle.

With the salt and calcium chloride they use on the roads here now we have the top hats rotting off them and cutting the bottom of the bag. Still going through trailers now to get what rotted off them last winter. Anything non-ferrous just disappears off them in a couple of years.
