Ask him his thoughts on a wilson 5000 with 10 inch shaft. That 10k will whistle you a tune when you are driving down the road, Im serious it can be annoying.

Not so, I ran a 250 amp on twin 5 1/2 ft Francis antennas for years. Never had a problem and they got out like a bandit.

If you ever get through Pennsylvania you should stop and check out the antenna selection over at Bob's CB shop.

I would just stick with what is working for you right now. the radio if the work is done right would improve the system, not degrade it.

Ridgeline, when they rate a attenna for wattage is that rating peak or Rms? That 4ft Francis that evvy is currently using is rated at 150 watts, if that is Rms he should be good with 98vhp in line, right.

It should be based on the wire diameter used, which would not be peak power limited.

The little francis will be fine, you won't see it on fire after a long keydown. It may be warm but ... not on fire.

Like I said, I'll stick with hardrive's advice on antenna and see how it works out for for my application. As stated in other threads, he is adament about only working with people that are serious about getting their radio to optimum performance and he's told me personally that part of that means heeding his advice, especially when you (me) aren't an expert in this field. What he doesn't want is a bunch of yahoo's half-assing his setups and then talking trash about him online when it doesn't perform, when in reality it's because they didn't heed his advice. I can understand that sentiment.

Mark says it will outperform the Predator 10k, but he thinks it is too heavy.
