They are a game changer. Home away from home. Cuts down on road expenses and time wasted waiting around for showers and food. The truck spends most if its time going straight down the highway, the few extra minutes of pull ups during backing to get in somewhere is no big deal.

You park at home, how far from the septic tank is the closest you can get the truck?

A slick trick i saw on a property was that there was a cleanout T that the guy had right before it entered his tank which he placed next to his drive so he could just empty his tanks to his septic tank at home

    Feedman and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Only done 4 loads so far.

2 of 4 were tight situations, without a doubt.

    But, made it work.

Going to eventually run into situation where things may not work out.

Sure that cash flip to jocky, for his 10 min effort will make all worthwhole.

So far. So good. Just have to examine sotuation & ge creative if need be.

    Will not ######## out here.

When & if I run into impossible situation, you will all know.

So far, first shower last night after disinfecting & rinsing #### completed.

All I can say so far.... complete & total game changer for myself.✌

No dealing with black water here on my end. Cassette toilet & easy dump anywhere.

Grey can be dumped at any time, pretty much anywhere

Can also dump all grey & fresh water if needed if weight a concern, along with playing with fuel levels.

New to the game of big bunks, but fully realized what I was getting into.

Prob worst situation you could imagine for big bunk, my being spot market reefer. Not good situation at all, concerning weights.

So far, good. Even after first 2 of 4 being pretty #### bad situations. Worked with fully thinking out possible approaches available. May have to think out situation. But if long, flat hood stretched frames can do it, I certainly can.

Fully confident there will come a time where I will have to hand off a bit 'O cash to a jockey. Only if skills fail. Sure they would jump on $50 to $100 for what would take them 10-15 minutes to do.

Barring that, I just make the move to to entertainment side that I originally intended from my start 10yrs ago.

    Or, go government contracting.

Very short experience so far, but lucking out so far.

We shall see how all pans out.

Can say ..... never, ever getting rid of the truck thst took me 10 yrs to get. Complete game changer all around.

Should have done this years ago as intended from the beginning.

    @blairandgretchen,

With what little experience examples I could find anywhere, your experience posted here helped a lot with my eventual decision.

Major difference in our loads/market between us. But..... will make it work. If not, time for a change in market/haul. Can do & will do.

But can tell you, ain't giving up truck for anything.

I thank you for all you have posted here. Has been a major help to me.

    Peace to you both. ✌

    First off
You won’t be chasing general freight with a big bunk
    At least IMO
Most of us who have them do a little more specialized type work like like Military Jet engines. Rocket engines. Etc
We don’t chase lumber or heavy repetitive type loads that are heavy and cheap
The one thing you will have is a bunk comfortable and big enough that waiting on a better $$$ load is t an issue

I don’t stress easily but when Elog became a thing my biggest issue was finding a parking spot and the wait for showers
    That all went away

To answer the full time living in it…
Well I usually run several weeks out and take 3-4 off but due to going through a divorce I’ve been in mine for over a year but I do make sure I get out of it whether I go to a resort or vacation
Just got back from a 3 week trip to Italy and Spain
So you still need to park it and walk away from it for a time or it will get old

As far as not holding a residence. Sure that part could be eliminated but you’ll need an address for drivers license and mail stuff

I have a 120” and pull 53’ flat and step Conestoga trailers

This is an awesome post!!! I very recently spotted a 100" double eagle bunk.near me that I might buy. No genset, but it does have a sink and overhead RV AC unit. What would something like this weigh roughly??
