2014 western star 4700 dd13 not hearing about problems with the engine and just wondering if extended warranty would be wise to invest in. This is a fleet truck and will see some off road use. 30 t0 40 thousand miles annually 50% of time idling.
extended warranty

Might want to invest in the extra warranty make sure it covers all of the emissions system, idling kills the new emissions systems.

I'm thinking the same thing. I have heard Idling is bad for after treatment
-
Take at minimum the aftertreatment warranty and harness warranty, cheap but will save you large.
-
30-40K you will run out time well before mileage. Make sure the extended adds more time not just miles.
-
Just curious who your warranty was through. I've heard horror stories of warranty companies. Can you elaborate how your warranty experience was?
-
Warranties should be direct through the dealership. Third party warranties usually only apply to used trucks.
-
A lot of the extended on new trucks are an insurance policy.
-
I'm not sure a new truck, losing 10-15k just driving off the lot would be something I'd consider. Bad-luck I'm still awaiting your response. I'm looking for experiences with used truck warranties.
