I need a quick advice regarding similar issue my company is having. We had hired a contractor to do a job for us for which we rented a truck for him to drive. During the scope of the job, he got pulled over for not having an eyeglass since his driver license stated that he is required to have them when he drives. The reason why he wasn't driving without is that he had his eye surgery done in his country and he no longer needed one. He has no documentation of surgery performed. The Company is bearing the cost now. We were recently dropped by our insurance company for that reason. Please help. We are looking to obtain another insurance but having a hard time due to DOT on file.

Get a spare made. That way you have it.

I can drive without a set but the stupid revenuer (Yes we still use that word) stamped my license must have glasses so I carry a spare.)

If you are anything like me you are going to get hit in the face sooner or later. Those glasses will go bye bye PDQ. If you aint got a spare, you are literally OOS until you can get one made locally which could take a week to ten days.

I have a spare frame to back up the spare glasses. That way I can snap the lenses into them and keep going. Im weird that way, plan B, C etc. At the end of the day the artificial lense implanted to replace a cataract in 2009 gives me a good range of vision from roughly 24 inches out. 24 inches happens to be the front sight of my colt it was a gift from my eye surgeon so that I don't need to fumble glasses before taking on the bad guy in the dead of night.

If I remember you have to have a spare set hauling hazmat. Spare battery for hearing aid and a spare headlight as well. I always have a backup set of glasses. Yes I know old thread lol

If corrective lenses are a requirement of your license you can be inspected for a spare. Generally a $5 pair of generic reading glasses from Wal Mart will count, unless the officer tells you to put them on and read that sign over there.

    austinmike Thanks this.

Hearing aids I do use. two of them. And I have about 30 spares on hand at all time for them, especially the newer zinc airs. I have aboutr 52 of them sitting here next to the keyboard. Which is about a years worth of power.

The older I get, the more people pass away and the less I want the #### things. lol.
