if you have the restriction on your driver's license you have to wear them driving and you are supposed to have a second pair in the truck with you .... have only been asked once in 35 years but is the law and really isn't a bad idea anyways
-
Would you be so kind as to post a link to this rule?
-
He won’t be able to post a link becuase that is false.
-
and you are an expert in the rules this is a rule and has been since I started and I wouldn't know how to post a link to anything anyways. the rule is there because if the pair of glasses you have became broKen or lost you would not be able to legally move the truck. and just because they didn't cover it in your swift or England orientation doesn't mean it isn't a rule
-
Post a link to the law and people will give you credit. But there is no law so you get no credit. Nice explanation you gave though
-
If you broke or lost your glasses, you are not supposed to drive and if you do drive and get caught you get a fine plain and simple. You made up that rule. There’s no law. I suppose you are supposed to keep a spare tire on the truck as well by law Incase one of those goes flat? The law wants you to keep rolling just in case just like if your glasses broke right?
-
you can drive if you have a extra pair idiot
-
The law is right under the one requiring you to carry a spare CDL in a lock box in the tractor in case you lose your wallet with your CDL in it. Oh, and you have to carry a spare tractor in your trailer in case you lose your tractor.
Don’t know what one would do if they lost their trailer.

I don't know if it's in the FMCSA Safety book or not but does it matter? Why would you need corrective lenses to safely drive, but not always have a spare given the fact the job takes you far from home, and crap happens?
