Not to mention, there's no restriction if somebody wants to drive their F250 with no sleep from El Paso to Jacksonville Florida

These are just simply power grabs, lobbying, and business tactics. I would expect truckers to understand but many truckers will be the first to say " tin foil hat etc "

We are over regulated. It's starts by not giving everyone who's raises their hand, a CDL. You make the CDL a real challenge then that weeds out many of our "problems".
-2nd, you make those passenger cars WAY more aware of us. Stop giving them licenses if they can't not pass the section called driving with and around SEMI'S!
-3rd, you slowly work on the public image of truckers through PR on national television.

I don't believe the #7 statement for a minute and I would love to see their data that gave them that info. All I can speak about is my own experience's and I tell you that ELogs cause one to be more unsafe than paper. With paper you don't have to deal with it at all until your stopped. Elogs weather your using the GPS or not cause you to pay attention to it in one way or another while your driving. You look at it because it makes a noise, you forgot to put yourself on line whatever when your in a yard,,,the list goes on and on. So my point is that, when your on Elogs you will be putting some focus on them while you drive and when your on paper, you won't. That in itself makes diving more unsafe. I apologize to all who read my posts, I am not an English teacher and not great with words. Safe travels..

That’s correct, if we give you an inch then you’ll want to drive 19 hours straight to get home. And we can’t have that.

You drive truck for a living and are subject to those laws .
For instance, you can go to Rural King and buy fertilizer and chemicals to put on your lawn, where a landscaper taking care of your lawn is subject to a whole set of rules.

No drivers OTR under 25 years old
    Forward and rearward facing cameras

Cell phones must be turned off
New hour of service rules more in line with regular workers 40 hours a week

Why can't we drive 19 hours?....If you feel fine why not?

They cry now about 11 hours.....geeze! What wusses!
    I can do a 800-900 mile day and not be sleepy!...But I don't have a 62 mph truck!
