I drive a 2010 Prostar and now have all (or most) of the bugs worked out, the comp. tried to move into a 2012 and that didn't happen! In about 18 months the comp. is going want my truck back and I'm gonna fight for it as long as I can!
Fact or fiction ????

you must remember you get two drivers together you will need waders to get thru the poop
one driver just thigh level boots
but prostars are not called pornstars lovingly -
These Mega companies have contracts with IH and others and they wont lose that contract over a bad batch of trucks. Most large companies have leases instead of buying they lease them until they hit a certain mileage and then they go back. there is usually a caveat in the contract that says if they have x number of issues they can exchange for a different rig. and yes the Prostars are JUNK ! I have yet to see one that was any good and or anyone that was truly happy with them. Internaqtional screwed the pooch with this rig !

I had to do some computer work (Peoplenet Portable stuff) in a 2012 International day cab.. We also have a frieghtliner of the same year.. After driving both. I can say at this point that I would not even consider buying an International. Both trucks have similar miles (the International has about 125k and the Cascadia has around 150k), the international shakes, squeeks, rattles, and makes the oddest engine noises that I've ever heard.
That being said. about three and a half years ago, we turned in all of our new Frieghtliner Columbia's due to the Mercedes Engines that were just plain horrible. We got brand new columbias in return with Detroit power.chalupa Thanks this. -
I forgot about his complaints about the International being so noisy, bumpy, etc. He said it is even colder and hard to keep warm with the temperature drops out now. I don't like it because it does not have that much room on it, got spoiled when he had a Volvo at US X.
I have heard that International is not able to make a EPA rated engine.chalupa Thanks this. -
Never listen to a driver. Read financials. International has increased sales, has backlog of trucks on order, financials are strong, warranty #'s below expectations (could be super high expectations). Bottom line - they work great deals with fleets, the trucks are getting 1-1.5 better MPG than Cascadia and very little hassle on lease returns.

That maybe so, but there warranty work on trucks takes too long. We never had to wait more than 3 days in a shop for the Volvo to be fixed. Not like the one shop in CA where he was in there on a Thursday and the truck wasn't finished till the next Saturday, some of which he had to call and check on to make sure it was being worked on. The other shop wasn't much better, it was in NV. -
International isn't gonna fight anyone that has one of those 2010 or newer maxforce engines. They themselves admitted they were junk and are putting cummins motors in all 2013 models for now. Not sure how much better that'll be.
