Why do I see some trucks with factory fiberglass antennas (3 foot) bent behind the wind deflector?

I see them a lot too, always tought thay maybe with wind they keep banging on wind deflector and the drivers got tired of it.

Good point. Some wind deflectors even have clips that hold the top of the short fiberglass antennas. Seems like a terrible design.
