Some companies don't hire South of I-4.
Depends on how far South you are and which town.

When I did my CDL training at mega trucking company they said. They will train you till you pass the test. I failed my first road test. The trucking company was a certified 3 party tester for the state.

So the trucking company passed or failed you. 3 guys out of 4 in the truck failed the road test and we had different guy from office test us. All the drivers in the other 3 trucks all passed. I always thought they picked the 4 weakest driver and put us in one truck with different guy we never seen before testing us. I did make mistakes and they had me do another week of training/driving.

so I guess pay the extra money if you can and try to relax little. It’s a lot as new driver to be testing.

 

Pay and do the retest..why go off in another direction.

Personally I’d contact Sage truck driving school in Fort Pierce, FL and see if they can do anything for him..maybe some yard time and a retest.
