With respect, you THINK you are doing it, but you're not.

I trained for 14 years and getting guys to look ahead was always a challenge. I remember one guy 'yeah, yeahed' me all week about it until one night I said 'you should already be off the throttle'. He asked why, and I said 'look ahead, see all the brake lights?'. The slowing traffic was more than 1/2 mile ahead, he was focusing barely 200 yards ahead.

If a guy has trouble maintaining his lane, 90% of the time it's because they're not looking far enough ahead and not doing enough GOOD mirror checks. If your head doesn't move, it's not a mirror check. No, using your peripheral vision doesn't count.

The other thing it could be is your mirrors are set incorrectly. You should only be able to see a sliver of the trailer and the mirror should be showing what's behind you, not the ground next to you.

The final thing is you're driving the truck, not the trailer. In order to keep the trailer in your lane through a curve, you need to move the tractor to the 'high side' as you enter. If you keep the tractor centered in the lane, the trailer will off track into the inside lane. If you're doing mirror checks, you'll notice this before the trailer can cross the line.

I failed 6 road tests. But there's no test been invented that I'd fail 7 times.

Thank you for the useless original post you wasted band width and my time..

The industry has been dumbed down to a point where anyone can drive a truck. You can't even get it right with basically no qualifications needed.

Go find something else to do for a living you obviously aren't cut out for this.
