Sometimes Fastenal hires drivers with only a permit; I've seen their ads about that.
@Kstrong86 works for Fastenal and also trains there.
Are you moving to a different state or a different city in Florida?

2) who cares if its a manual - the motion is going to be the same.
3) how far from bwing straight are you? Are we talking 6 inches over the length of the vehicle or are we talking the right sidd of the dot bumper is just inside the right hand lime while the left steer is rubbing up against the cone? I have plenty of guys who think that just because they are in thd spot means it was a successful back. If no one can get into the spot on either side of you, theb you have a problem. The number 1 thing I fail guys over is backing. The number 1 accident is hitting something while backing. Keep practicing until you feel like am expert, then go test. -
I care because I can barely reach the clutch and I am testing in an automatic. Every jerk is and inch and I keep doing it cause it's hard for me to reach the clutch.
I was even on both sides. I got it in the day before and was in the lines but the trailer wasn't completely straight. I asked the instructors and they said that it's fine as long as I wasn't on the lines. The examiner said EVERYTHING had to be completely straight or it's a fail even being in the box and lines. We aren't skilled drivers yet so for him to expect that with a months training is ridiculous. The same examiner I had has been having people complain about him since last year. Now I have to practice to be a perfectionist and it's ridiculous. That's why I'm frustrated. -
I had an instructor give me a piece of juicy fruit gum. I was like WTH? Anyway I took it and realized that instead of getting tense I just murder chewed that gum. He gave me a piece for my CDL test as well it was comfort to gnaw on it. Haven’t used the gum truck since then, but it eased my trouble and got me through on my first try.melissagr320 and gentleroger Thank this. -
But I also know the number of people who wash out of their first company due to inadequate skills.
I had a guy a few months ago who was rather upset about my standards. "I'm new, you can't expect perfection " he said. I failed him, my company passed him. He didn't even make it out of the yard on his first load before having an accident. I can give you more stories exactly like that.
You know what the examiner expects - exceed his expectations. When I was coaching I had an athlete get very upset about how a ref was calling things. My response was "you know that is how the game is being called - adjust and use it to your advantage ". Right or wrong, its his call to make, so as you are practicing work to hia standard.tinytim and melissagr320 Thank this. -
Sygma Network hires drivers with only a permit. Don't know if they hire where you're moving to or not. You are paid the whole time they're training you.
