I have been curious about the question you had asked as I had a problem with my DOT physical recently.
Just found this from OOIDA.. http://www.ooida.com/ReviewDoc/
[2nd opinion is Okay – Lying is not
While it will not be free, a second opinion may save your CDL. If you feel a CME is being fraudulent/incompetent/or is just plain wrong, you may get a second opinion (or third), just do not lie or mislead. Here is a brief interview with the FMCSA Director of Carrier, Driver and Vehicle Safety Standards regarding a 2nd opinion. http://www.landlinenow.com/Podcast/item.aspx?podcast=1241The following article about a 2nd opinion also references the interview with the FMCSA Director of Carrier, Driver and Vehicle Safety Standards. http://www.landlinemag.com/Story.aspx?StoryId=27988White_Knuckle_Newbie and KMac Thank this. -
More from OOIDA article...
Example of what is illegal - (“doctor shopping”)
Driver goes to doctor A. Driver either tells the doctor about a condition the driver has which is disqualifying, or the doctor determines the driver has a condition which is disqualifying. The driver then goes to doctor B. At doctor B the driver lies about the driver’s medical status by not disclosing the known medical condition. This can happen by not honestly filling out the form or by lying to doctor B when asked about the condition. This example is illegal and not advisable.
Do NOT lie!
When a driver goes to more than one medical examiner, this shows up in the certified medical examiner database. It will be reviewed. If the driver gave the same information to both examiners it is not a problem and the most recent exam will be the drivers current status. If the information the driver provided is not consistent this will be followed up on and if found to be dishonest can result in disqualification.KMac Thanks this. -
BE VERY CAREFUL, Not at all kidding.
We just lost a driver today, for doctor shopping. He saw one a month and a half ago, who told him he needed to get a CPAP machine. He didn't do it. Went to another MD, the first found out and is in the process of trying to take his Med Card away from him (I've dealt with this particular MD myself, and she's a real pain in the nether regions, thinks she has her own little fiefdom in this small town).
Though thankfully I haven't had to deal with her for my own Med card. -
How did she find out about the first physical if the database system hasn't been implemented yet?
-
Second Dr called the first, for more information.
Driver admitted to going to the first. (I won't say hes the brightest crayon in the box)
Though, knowing who the first Dr is, myself. I'm not surprised.
Though, i did find out today that he is being kept on, with another division that doesn't require a med card. -
Better make sure they are on this list... not on list - money wasted.

I went to CVS today and passed the physical and received the med card. Mentioned the tremors too and she said its fine since she didn't notice any neurological problems during the physical.
I did feel like the Concentra physical was more thorough but thats a different story. -
are they on the list? see post 27,,, if not on the list the med card is not good.

They are. I just looked up the examiner in the database and she was certified 12/19/14.
paul_4lp and TequilaSunrise Thank this.
