I hate to admit it but I understand that character way more than I should. Thankfully I'm too much of a bleeding heart to turn into something like that.

My neck has been screwed up for 10 years since I stood up fast under a deck I built that was a 1/2 inch shorter because of sand build up since I originally built it .

Was only occasionally bothering me until I walked thru a doorway last year in my buddies old basement that was a 1/2 shorter than me and I wedged in it like a Swift trailer under a railway trestle .

Only bothers me when I sleep hard which I rarely do.

I’m not into prescription drugs or even over the counter.

Lots of neck exercises and stretches. I have a killer massage chair I hit once a week that does a number on it.

Going to do a session in it right now.

This is not true all across the board. You are using the wrong terms also. Physicians are not going to write a letter certifying a driver safe even taking aspirin. Just is NOT going to happen. What a Physician will write is the person has been under their care for X amount of time and is stable while taking the medication.* It has been almost 5 years now, but I remember my last Flexeril had the direction 1 dose at bedtime as needed. This medication taken like this by the time you wake up is generally out of the body.

Two things. First for a long time from the early 80s until well into this century my private Physician in Georgia also did my physicals. I would just hand him the filled-out form during my exam and he finished it. So he already had my medical records and was the one that prescribed the Flexeril I took. I took this medication only as needed, but when I did I woke up free of its effects and went on duty.

As to the legal thing. I am not an attorney, but most Physicians have professional liability insurance if they become a defendant in such a lawsuit. However, just being in an accident is not an automatic make you guilty situation. As I said, I'm not at Attorney, but I have heard several say these things are far from automatic.

    * I said in another thread from time to time I do physical therapy with a driver that takes Hydrocodone 5/300s and is cleared to drive. I asked him if he would mind showing me his paperwork. I did see it. He is actually cleared to OPERATE a CMV while taking these pills. His physician (a VA provider) stated he has been under their care and is stable. I also know of several other drivers that are cleared to take Hydrocodone like this.

    Negan from The Walking Dead.
The guy goes oldschool brutal to hack out some order from chaos.
Think Romans. Julius Caesar in particular.

The Time Julius Caesar Was Captured by Pirates

Negan and Julius Caesar would have gotten along just fine.

Just to be clear I guess you can consider this a rant. I am not sure what the average experience level is in these forums, but I would hazard to guess it's in the 4 to 6 year range. I know some of us have 25+ years of experience. How many of you have fallen out of your truck? I have! How many of you have slipped on ice while getting fuel because of all the water around the fuel islands? I have many times. How many of you have went to grab the door handle and yank a muscle? I have many times. I once had to help unload tires and walked funny for days afterward. Back in 2011 I had my hand to slip off the landing gear handle and caused my hand to hit under the trailer, I finally had to go to the ER to get the resulting infection treated. There are thousands of drivers that are either pre-diabetic or are type 2 and take pills for control, yep, there are many insulin-dependent diabetics too. I dare say at least 30% of all drivers have some form of prescription medication on their truck. While I am on the subject now let us discuss all the drivers that are texting and/or in the process of voice calls. If I took the time I could write another 100 or so words on why drivers have meds. How many drivers do you think are taking blood pressure meds, water pills, and even drugs like Prozac? I have spoken to some drivers that tell me they have ADHD and are STILL taking medications. Oh, I also left out the drivers that still actually drink alcohol and drive!

My point? While it may NOT be what some of you want to hear, this OP might well be closer to the norm for their age in regard to this industry than most of you think or care to admit!
