Look at other companies beside the "bottom feeders". You have a 100k miles and a year which isn't much but it's something. You should be able to get onto a smaller company with less nonsense. A lot of the bigger companies are starting to implement these new physical standards. Not sure what the reason is but the one I work for requires us to do some of this garbage. Not sure what it has to do with anything since a normal day consists of turning valves and lifting a maybe 25 pound hose. Good luck to you.

Lessors Inc hires in Floriduh, and have a terminal in Dover, just outside of Tampa. I left after 5 1/2 years, but new trucks, APUs, inverters, not too bad. Try them out.

I went to work for Knight Refrigerated in 04/10 and was given similar tests---I think they called it the Physical Agility Test. I didn't pay attention to the weight amounts but there were alot of men who failed the test! The way it was setup if you didn't pass the PAT you never got to take the DOT physical or give a urine sample! I wish they had failed me because it was eight months of BS. So it is nothing new with Knight, the recruiters never mention it to potentioal newhires and there were alot of pissed-off big-old boys on the ride back !

OMG well let me tell you. Once we got back and sitting in the training room, a trainer came in and was talking to us (not knowing I failed and was going home or why) about just how 100% no touch they are! not 99% not 99.9% 100% comcheck baby! Soooo ya really where does that come into play? I completely understand that a company can set their own standard for hire, BUT they are heading toward a discrminatory chapter in their course here. Knight is not a mega company yet they aren't a small company. They are by many standards a good company as they have regulated their growth while staying a debt-free corporation. But please, they get goverment subsidies just like anyone else. And therefore they may have gone too far here. I agree are they going to turn away handicapped too? I wasn't the only one asking if they had a gender based test, the testing assistant couldn't understand wny there wasn't one either. She (bless her heart) I found out from the other guys, was actually worried for me before I even got to that test. Then when I began I told her I was concerned, and she told me she was too for me! I was like "wow" I'm not going to get through this am I? I moved the box down the hall 5x's. I've been driving only a year so far, but 99% drop and hook was 100% drop and hook. I never had that 1% even though I know it can happen, I don't think this test reflects that situation in the least. But at the very very least, and very important to me - as I will move forward - I want any others inquiring to know ahead of time this information I couldn't find myself. If the recruit is concerned then I want that known. It shouldn't be a humilating surprise to have to deal with. Someone after me can prepare or rethink their choice with information. If this were 3 weeks ago, I wouldn't be writing this. I would be in. Everything has a purpose these roadblocks in life, but information is what makes all of us better.

Thank you. I want to thank everyone for your honest input. It helps very much. I don't hate the system yet. Information communication goes a long way.

Well you're a good animated writer so you should keep track of all your escapades and start writing audio books for truckers.

Right! I think this test is newly ramped up. Well I know it is because even the clinic wasnt familiar with it and was reading the set up as they went. So that is really what I want others to know, that what was is no longer. I think personally it has to do with the healthcare requirements. They seem to maybe overcompensating for one regulation in spite of another long standing one (discrimination). I'm realizing that this is not the norm - yet anyway - and am seeking places that it isn't that aren't too terrible....ya right. No, but all the replies are very helpful and I thank you all.

No worries I predict you'll be hired by someone within 1 month. Maybe 3 weeks. Check Craigslist I always see ads for drivers. If there is a Walmart d.c near you find out who their in-house carrier is... Find out what trucking company has a terminal inside the Walmart facility and go there and talk to them. It's a good gig to get into but only if you're on a dedicated account
