Im sure I'm not the first to fail the backing test. I really feel I was screwed by not being given the chance to retake or be trained better, tho I do take responcability for screwing up . I know what I did wrong and yes I should have gotten out and looked again.
As far as the weight ticket it was not over gross ,just needed to move the tandoms .
There isnt any more to it. That I know of. I even called the company to see what the problem was bc every time a prospective employer called them I got shot down. I was told they were just reporting the truth ,that I failed the test. I tried to leave on good terms rather then tell them what I thought of their company pollicy so that hopfully they wouldnt try to screw me further as I attempt to move on.

I was told by them that you need 6 months (or something) experience under your belt for them to hire you, unless you go to school to get your CDL with them.

I'm just a wanna-be, but if no one will hire you, would it be feasable and affordable to sign on with another training company and start all over again (go thru their school, trainer, etc?

Glad a couple of others already said what I was thinking. Any student who got an overweight ticket, and wasn't prepared backwards and forwards for upgrade test had a bad trainer.
I know, I know its the students responsibility, and some people don't test well. But trainers know what those tests are, and the student should have done everything in that test 30-50 times.
I would have taken it personally if one of my students had failed upgrade.
Ok. Sorry I'm rambling. Some of the trainers out there, grrrr

I had one fail. He done an additional 3 weeks with me. Then squeaked by.

Then got sent home in the post test interview.

I took it personal at the time. But came to realize over time. Some people are just not cut out for truck driving.

The guy couldn't follow directions. Period.

That, and he "had" to have 12-14 hours sleep every night.

I never met anyone like him before or since.
