and that is INSANE, NOT to have a test site. the states i deal with ALL have multiple test sites, usually the it is the DOT sand/salt/fueling yards, all lined and coned for testing ANY commercial vehicle....

There was a fully loaded Bud Light delivery truck that came in for testing, sadly the driver had to walk off and call someone to pick up his truck, he didn't pass airdown test...

The DOT tester also spoke to us and told us what he expected from any candidate, most importantly he was looking a good airdown, "basic"(he emphasized) knowledge/skills and most importantly, safe driving, not perfection...

I don't seem to be correcting drift quick enough. Once I realize it's off, it's usually to late.

That's how I did Mine. Just back up slowly. turn the wheel just enuff to get the trailer to start turning, Once it gets close to the other side of the road turn the wheel back the other way..

Fortunately, offsets are not on the test as I can't do them at all. They only test parallel park and straight back.

I am very concerned as I did nothing but parallels all day for two Saturdays before the test and still failed. This time, I have the day before and the morning of the test to prepare.

I wish you luck Onthefence, but you mainly just need to listen to advice given earlier in this thread and relax.
You are lucky in a way. NY is about the easiest state to test in. The 45 degree dock is much harder than the blind side parallel NY has you do.
And if you do not pass it the 3rd time....well....I hate to say it but maybe you should not.
