Failed Written Test By One Question

Same thing happened to me when I went in blindly at the age of 18. Talk about a big ol' FAIL. That straightened me out...I then waited until I was 21 and studied my butt off. Walked out that time with my permit!

BTW - not saying that you went in blindly or dismissing your efforts, just my personal efforts.

 

confidence IS good...

unpreparedness is NO GOOD.....

isn't the boy scout motto, "always be prepared"...??

study, study, study.....

otherwise, you will fail again, and each time, it's costing you money, isn't it...??

you can go to a couple of websites:

then take even MORE practice tests.

common sense, and most importantly, read the entire question, word for word...DO NOT add a word or remove a word to make the question "sound good" to you....

then, it'll be the FIRST answer that pops in your head, that'll be the right one. DO NOT change your mind.....that is when you will get that question wrong.

And I was on the extreme end of things. I went in nervous as all hell thinking id have to do a retake or two, passed with a 46 out of 50, only went in for the general knowledge being im trying to get into a sprinter van and not a big rig.

 

read the book--try a couple of study tests--have a couple beer and go write the test
its not rocket science--just have to read and remember----good luck

 

And like rerun said do the practice test, over and over and over. That helps a LOT. Well it helped me out anyway. Best of luck on your next try!

 

Nope just "be prepared"

 

I hope your attitude changes....if you are lackadaisical at the permit to learn...how will you handle the information offered in the school, and then out with a trainer.....the information offered at each level just gets more and more overwhelming for a person if they don't apply themselves to the task.

Ask Rerun about all the things he covers in his school...it isn't grade school anymore this is a career that puts your life and THE LIVES OF OTHERS in the target zone.

If you can't apply what is needed just to get in the door...how do you think you will get another door to open for you to join the rest of the PROFESSIONALS who are actually driving these rigs out here?!!!!

Not something to take lightly in my humble opinion...and I am sure Rerun and all the others will agree with me on this point!

those web sites (in my opinion) help one understand the way the questions are put to you. it gives one an idea on how to read them in thier content as provided and to use one's common sense and knowledge..

well although i do not drink, a couple of beers might be of some good, provided one has a "couple" at least 8 to 10 hours BEFORE the test is to be taken...that way...the computer monitor isn't "shaking" that much....

well, i never was a boy scout.....or any kind of scout.

but given what needs to be done at the test site, "always be prepared" at what the testing examiner might throw at you...at the road test for instance, a test examiner has the "right" to ask you questions, so "always be prepared" for that.....by practicing....

when i "test" my students, i throw them a curve ball, to see and hear how they would react....if the take or make the wrong decision, i correct them ASAP, so they do not flunk the DMV testing...
