Last year I started a thread just like this. I got a lot of good opinions on winter gear. I bought an insulated carhardt jacket and fleece lined work pants and winter boots. Now a year later and a winter season wiser, I found that this is what I like:
Thermal undershirts underneath non cotton tshirt like under armor, light weight dickies jacket, no heavy boots but instead breathable new balance hiking shoes and tech winter socks. Also somebody said buy lots of gloves so they can dry out as you use other ones. My carhardt jacket was too hot for outside work like tarping and securing. Just my opinions. Good luck.

    stacks Thanks this.

Oh yeah, you need a variety! It's a real bich to crawl out of your nice warm tractor in Cheyenne in January, with temperature down around 0, wind speed up around 60, and snow flying, and you are wearing your Bermuda shorts and flip flops.:p:D

Google it. IMHO, while it is cheaper than Carhartt, it is not as well made, and also doesn't last as long.

I tried on the walls insulated coveralls. It felt like I was wearing a giant cardboard box.
