As far as that goes, where I had most trouble was after leaving the steps of the truck. I think my record was landing on my butt three times between the tractor and the back of the truck, then falling a couple of times trying to get the doors open!
I am also a fan of kitty litter. I carry it in ALL my vehicles, and have for years. We don't get much snow here where I live, but it happens occasionally. And back in my driving days, I always had some on the truck. It is not only good for slick stuff, but it is good for absorbing things that get spilled inside the truck.
I never felt good about beating on my brakes with a regular hammer either. The rubber mallet does the job, though it may take a bit more work! And let me assure YOU that certain parts of Arizona get a lot of snow! Ever get caught in a blizzard on the 40, or the 17 near Flag? Or even more fun, up on the rez on some of the two lane roads. NOT A GOOD TIME.
I even saw snow in El Centro, CA one year! Talk about people running the full range of emotions from downright panic to euphoria!
Gee, I always thought you supposed to throw "rose petals" to walk on! That's how they did it in the movie "Coming To America," anyway. . .![]()
Falling on butts!
