The thing is there was no smell of alcohol. She just had it in for me that day. I've only been there twice. And from the first time I met her, she seemed like she was out to get me from the get go. The expression on her face said it all, especially the avoidance of eye contact. I'll intent was definitely a part of this on her behalf.

There was no way for the driver to prove it. The person who reported this is a very good client and they took that person's word. Since the complaint came a day later, any tests would not have been allowed.
I told the safety person, that if they ever get a complaint of that on me, be assured it is a lie. I explained I do not drink and would also make the same comment about the client.
I will not take a load to this client because of the accusation.
I will agree that the way you report is better, but does he have the results in hand to support it.
Not to mention, if they got it, they may not like the image that the manager presented to someone and what they did.Big Don Thanks this. -
So you've been through this too? I hope you didn't lose your job because of this.

It would've been nice to turn the tables but I feel by not retorting to her actions, that'll only show how insignificant and unimportant she really is. Maybe that'll put a dent in her ego.

You know, that woman tried to jamb you up and could have costed you your job. Good thing you did not confront her. But I will say this, the next person I would have spoken with after the breathalyzer would have been my attorney. Life is hard enough without these little dweebs trying to destroy your reputation and your livelihood.

That's why I would like to know what company he's talking about so I can put it on my blacklist of crappy companies drivers should avoid.

I just can't believe she would try such a thing. I didn't do anything to her. It's just hard to understand why some people are the way they are.

I am an owner and our company has higher standards. When you are leased on, they go over the rules on the alcohol policy they have.
If you do not like it, you do not have to work here.
It is one of the reasons I chose this company. I have worked at others where the drivers drink at truckstops and such. If we are caught, it is over.
Another reason, is that when I lost a family member to a drunk driver, I lost most of the compassion for a drunk period.Nyman Thanks this. -
^^ Awful advice. This is what not to do. Because you didn't do what this guy said you still have a job today.
