Glad to hear from someone who does the JCP account. Look, I've gone to several JCP stores. Most were pleasant, few were unpleasant, but the store at Frederick, MD...She was just a pain in the you know what. She definitely seemed like someone on a power trip. And if you come up with better solutions than hers, and in front of her employees, she will definitely become vindictive. So was the case with this store manager. But all in all, JCP is a great gig. I also do the same as you. Most pick up their loads in the middle of the night. I pick it up in the aft/eve and have it there by the end of the day. Then I'll rack out in my bunk till it's time to unload. I'm surprised that most drivers don't do this.

I just threw ideas your way because I didn't know how it went down.

It's not just trucking. That crap is everywhere anymore. But you do see more than your share trucking than you do at home. Just to name a few I've seen everything from naked people, real live car chases, tornado's, a man beating himself up to a guy that dressed and thought he was a real wizard. It's a crazy world out there. Quite entertaining sometimes.

Yeah, it is hard to believe some of the people in the work force that should be institutionalized.

Your original story remminded me of a certain person we had to deal with at a drop in Chicago.

Drivers were required to wear safety equipment while on site(hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves and long sleeves)... not a problem we all had this stuff.

Ok, there was this guy that worked at the drop site and he would come up to you and freaken stomp on your feet to make sure you were wearing steel toe boots... He would also carry a hammer and actually hit your toe with it too... Yeah, I'm not kidding.

    The incident:

A driver I trained now out on his own, went to this drop. It never came up in training and I never told him about this clown.(we didn't go there often) Well, he did it to the new driver... came up and stomped on his feet... Well the driver turned around and one punched him... freaken knocked him out. Cops were called, bosses were called etc. etc. The driver I trained, told the cops the clown came up and stomped on my feet so yeah... I punched him and knocked him out... Thankfully, there were video cameras here and the cops reviewed them... then the cops told the guy... if you stomped on my feet I'd probably do the same...LOL

Sadly, I heard that they didn't even fire the toe stomper... they tranfered him and I have not seen him since.

There are all sorts of people out there for sure!

Construction has toe-stompers too. Luckily he just asked me. I told him as he was walking up, you stomp on my feet, and you'll wake up in the hospital.

Never lower yourself to somebody else's standards. I'm a true believer in karma what comes around goes around. Like the old saying goes vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Just consider it part of life you name the situation I think I've been through it. You did the right thing.

I agree with you, but only up to a point. A physical assault against me is going to be met with like or stronger force, if I am physically able. It's one thing to get verbal, or make threats, phone calls, letters etc. But when it comes to an actual battery I will always defend myself and believe we all must.

Someone stomping on your toes is a battery, any way you look at it.

I have experienced this type of behavior from time to time myself in my twenty five years. Rest assured it will happen again no matter what company you are with. There will always be someone like this there is no getting around it.
The best thing to do is like someone else posted keep cool but stand up for yourself when your employer brings it to your attention. The company is in an bothersome position as well, they have to keep the costumer happy wile at the same time sifting through complaints from people like this and real accusations.

What would really be interesting is to here the whole truth. Usually guys that come on this board and whine are hiding something.

My guess, there is a whole lot more to this story than what you're telling.

If you are telling the truth, and your station in life doesn't permit you to act like a man. Then you get what you deserve :biggrin_25525:

Machismo has no place in business, and the civilized world. Go back to the animal world to fit in doing that.
