15 days after receipt of paperwork:
Q. Can my carrier hold up my pay until they get paid for the load I hauled? What if I had some damage noted on the bills?
A. Section 376.12 (f) Payment period
"The lease shall specify that payment to the lessor shall be made within 15 days after submission of the necessary delivery documents and other paperwork concerning a trip in the service of the authorized carrier. The paperwork required before the lessor can receive payment is limited to log books required by the Department of Transportation and those documents necessary for the authorized carrier to secure payment from the shipper. In addition, the lease may provide that, upon termination of the lease agreement, as a condition precedent to payment, the lessor shall remove all identification devices of the authorized carrier and, except in the case of identification painted directly on equipment, return them to the carrier. If the identification device has been lost or stolen, a letter certifying its removal will satisfy this requirement. Until this requirement is complied with, the carrier may withhold final payment. The authorized carrier may require the submission of additional documents by the lessor but not as a prerequisite to payment. Payment to the lessor shall not be made contingent upon submission of a bill of lading to which no exceptions have been taken. The authorized carrier shall not set time limits for the submission by the lessor of required delivery documents and other paperwork."
You must be paid within 15 calendar days of the time you turn in your paperwork. Your carrier cannot legally make you wait for your money until they have been paid for the load. They must still pay you within 15 days of the day you turn in your paperwork. Of course, turning in your paperwork in a timely manner will help you maintain a good working relationship with your carrier as well as keep your cash flow healthy. Were you aware that if you have damage, shortages, or other exceptions noted on a bill of lading, your carrier cannot, under these regulations, hold up your pay for that load? For more information about claims see item three under "376.12(j) Insurance."
And although the regulations don’t tell you to, keep copies of everything. It doesn’t matter who loses paperwork – it’s still lost and your paycheck may very well be late as a result. Most truckstops have copy machines, and taking the time to make copies can save you grief later.
Q. Can my carrier hold my last load as escrow at the time of termination of the lease?
A. Not just no, but HELL NO! See Sec. 376.12(f)

I've exchanged some private messages regarding this with BHW. It wasn't right that I did not follow up on the post where I blasted to this public thread, after clearing the air on my own issue with this. So here it is.
In the case of company feedback, I get that TTR is not going to take sides, in favor of letting users see the negative reports with the good and make up their own mind regarding who's posting it and how credible the story is.
To be fair, I probably wouldn't have made that post or even cared if it had been any other company getting dirt slung at them like that. Since I've known Bill since before all of F2F was just an idea, I was seeing a personal attack just like on a more social thread.
What I should have done was take it up with the TTR staff privately, just using the "report this" link somewhere. My concerns would have been responded to without the drama. Just the same as the very few times I've used that before. Usually to report spammy stuff.
I'm glad to share that yes, TTR admins are watching this thread. And so far, if I look at it through the lens of random company feedback versus someone I like personally, there hasn't been too much for them to intervene with yet.
I suppose it's just like any other context. You wouldn't just walk into a bar or someone's house, come in off the street and start mouthing off to the regulars or total strangers and expect to be taken seriously. Someone that has become known through more positive interactions is more likely to be read as legit, versus someone who signed up the same day and posted only that negative stuff. There really isn't a threshold or post count number for that, in my opinion.
What I do believe is: if you have to hide behind an anonymous screen name when airing your dirty laundry, what are you hiding from? You think it's ok to put it out there and potentially harm someone's or a business reputation, but you're not willing to put your own on the line to make the claim.
