I hope this thread doesn't become a bashing thread. There are negatives in every company The one thing about any company... YOU DONT MESS WITH DRIVERS MONEY. If I haul a load and I have a good BOL, I expect to get paid. I can over look certain things, but when it comes to money. I have to bail fast. Maybe Rollin Coal can shed some light on this.

Rollin Coal was the 1st guy they had, their definitely not messing with his pay I wouldn't think.
He gets a bigger percentage than anyone else also.
I'll bash the company and I'll also praise them. I was there when they had only a few O/O's. Your welcome to ask me any questions.

I'm leased to them. I've been called a recruiter and all sorts of things. None of it true. I've never ever tried to get anyone to lease on here namely because so few can cut it. One exception to that was a buddy of mine. When I first leased on he thought he'd give it a go too and he's still here. There are some issues and there are some plusses. I'm not sure what kind of operators they are looking for anymore so anyone interested needs to talk with them and see what it is they are offering.

What is the reason you say so few can cut it there?

Irresponsible, can't manage money, don't have any money, can't keep a truck up - the same reasons they can't make it anywhere. The added pressure of booking their own freight and making it happen. Just not many guys are up to the task. That's just how it is.

Well I'm one of those responsible guys. I keep the left door closed, my equipment maintained, and save my pennies. I'm looking for a company that is up to the task, my end is excellent.

I'm not bashing them in any way whatsoever. But when you rely on load boards only, and the bottom falls out, it can make for very Tough times. Especially trying to run that many trucks.

Thanks for the tag, @TaylorMade407 . I didn't have email notifications for tagging turned on, so I didn't see it until today when I logged on.

F2F is a fine company for anyone that's able to run on their own authority, but it's more or less like having your own numbers on easy mode. If you use BigRoad they'll file your IFTA, if you give them clean BOLs and mail them in every week they will do the document chasing for the brokers, if you get base plates through them they'll finance it and Bill will sit in a state office all day waiting for your cab card to make sure you'll get it on time. There are a lot of "if"s that make or break the positives of the business model, and unfortunately some people sign on promising to follow through but don't deliver and it gums things up for everyone. However, if you work with the business model to the best of your ability it frees you up to get on the phones, knock on some doors, and drive to make some money.

There are a lot of stories in this thread, and most of them have a grain of truth. It's a company run by humans, so there will be hiccups, and there will be people that see those hiccups and call them cancer. I've talked to Lauren over the years a well as recently, and I've gathered that the biggest issues we're facing are short term, and everyone has a huge fire under their ### to work them out.

For @BirdDog73 first, congrats on getting your unit paid off. You're ahead of a good deal of drivers looking to make this transition, and in all honesty, it just makes life easier. I've been leased to F2F for three years coming from Werner with a similar footing in the industry that you have. It's going to take you a while to learn rates and lanes, and that's where some people get hung up, but F2F has a new hybrid model for new business partners that aims to take the edge off that learning curve. I plan on re-attending orientation to learn more about it so I can better answer questions concerning the program.

Currently, I run the upper Midwest, and am home every weekend unless I have other plans (weddings, funerals, conventions, etc) in which case I book a load out there and enjoy being a paid tourist. I'm a bit of an oddball running flatbed in the north while almost everyone else runs vans in the south, but more or less, you can do whatever you want.

You seem like you've got something going on between your ears, and I know that's the type of business partner Bill likes to see apply, because he knows that's the type of business partner that succeeds. Let me know if you've got any more questions.

Thanks @barroll I appreciate your post and will ask some stuff as I start to get closer to when and if I switch from where I'm at. I appreciate the parts you said about the grains of truth and the company is made up of humans. Honest post. Thanks man, be safe out there and I will keep researching. I do believe that the effort is mostly on my part, I just want to find that right model. Thanks

Maybe because one person's negative report could be another's dirty laundry? Or someone currently on the clock not wishing to poop in their own drinking water?

Not so much a TTR thing, more so with posting anything out on the wild interwebs these days.

Some excellent responses in this thread and good representation of current and former F2F lease contractors. I've known Bill since he was a Volvo pilot, and managed to match up on two loads for them a while back as an outside carrier. No complaints, paid on time, and those two loads just happened to be set our record rate per mile. So there it is, two in a row.

Your mileage may vary, scenes performed by stunt drivers on closed courses, don't try this at home, and so on.

Grijon, BirdDog73 and rollin coal Thank this.
