Repairs are supposed to be complete by Friday. You know how that goes, we will see. F2F felt sorry for us and found something for us to do. I suspect my pitiful whining had something to do with it. We are in a rental car headed to Houston to pick up two straight trucks for the expedite division. We will get these two trucks to Chattanooga then turn around and do it again. Should keep us busy until our truck is fixed. Nice to be moving

So what is Farm2Fleet offering you if you are finding your own loads and making the connections with the customers to build a lasting and profitable relationship....so far all I've read is they rent you a trailer.

Connections to good freight. I don't know how much other drivers have utilized the 3PL stuff but I've made out well from it since around September. These are loads that never, or I should say seldom, go on any loadboards. A few of my good brokers might get some of that stuff as a last resort and the sky is sometimes the limit on those but that would not be the norm. The rates are solid from the 3PL, not over the top, but solid. For many it would likely be the best rates they've ever seen. I use that, connections I've already made with brokers, and random loadboard loads that I push on price aggressively as possible and make out good from it. You'll get out of this company what you put into same as any other good company. There's no hand holding.

    I don't know what 3PL is.
I guess I also don't understand why after building these coveted relationships you wouldn't cut out the middle man and get your own authority. It seems to me you're doing all the leg work. I'm not meaning to badger, I just don't understand the point. If you can explain it any better, please do. I'm close to getting my own truck and looking for a place to land.

F2F makes a number of these relationships possible. A lot of these contacts would never put this freight on a single guy running under his own authority. There are also a number of back office functions performed by the staff that if you had your own authority, you would either have to do yourself or hire someone to do it. I think F2F definitely earns their money.

Let me ask you, if you were running under your own authority and a broker refuses to pay, what happens then? Maybe you have factored your receivables and you are covered but that is an expense also. Do you have the cash reserves to pay for 30 to 45 days of fuel purchases? If you invest all of your available cash reserves in fuel, what happens when the truck breaks down?

Ok. Now we're getting somewhere. So, they'll pay your load, even though you "found" & "brokered" it regardless if the customer pays? Plus, of course, the back office stuff; logs, drug screens, etc. All on top of providing an open door to build relationships with clients you wouldn't have the opportunity to come in contact with. Now I understand. Thank you
