I used to have the pm's saved where you first contacted me but seem to have lost that with the new forum format. I was #####ing about a mileage lease and looking forward to getting into a percentage lease. In fact I had already jumped through all of Landstar's obstacles and had an orientation scheduled with them. All set to go up to Hopkinsville, KY. And then as fate would have it...

I had saved almost all of those emails from the early days. But also lost them in various transitions. Do miss some of that stuff from the early days. But happy to have a team now that takes calls in the middle of the night and deals with most of the headaches.

Still holding true to our orientation with no room sharing, good food, as long as Lauren and I are in town we do at least one dinner with new O/O's to get to know them personally.

I can remember Lauren saying we are stopping at 10. LOL

I don't think it matters where you are - the concept is the same. You would be looking for your own freight, in places you choose, and therefore, make your own destiny.

LOL, it is certainly more work making a living in this environment but we are doing well. Or, well enough. All the bills are paid and we just got back from 10 days in the Caribbean. In this market, relationships REALLY matter.
