Yeah, we are talking to the dealership. Service department agrees the truck is toast but it is the sales department that needs to pay the bill. Working on that today. They really have two options, a complete engine rebuild or they give me credit for what I paid (We paid cash) towards another truck. Will keep you updated.

    TruckDuo and milskired Thank this.

So far they have been totally awesome. That could quickly change. If they just "fix" the truck to get it running I will have a moral dilemma on my hands because I will need to take it to another dealer and trade it in but that means someone else gets stuck with this truck eventually. I am hoping for the complete rebuild. The truck interior is in like new condition. Just need to get the mechanical systems to match. The dealership also have multiple lease and rental locations so I will be expecting a loaner while they rebuild mine.

Got the t-shirt went thru a full year of working $,$$$.$$ bugs out of my unit. Cracked head was the big one right from the start. Hindsight is always 20/20. Some of my problems could have been avoided but really it's always a crapshoot with any used piece of equipment. Like Bill says. You'll meet drivers who picked a truck out because they liked the seats and the color looked good who never have any problems at all. Then some who check over everything and stuff happens. One thing's for sure, when mistakes have zero'$ on the end you become a quick study.

Well, the dealer has my truck in the shop and they are tearing my engine apart to find everything wrong. I told them I would split the cost of a full in-frame at Cummins (Great suggestion Rawze) since it will give me a solid truck I can run for a few years. They want to identify the problem first. Should know more tomorrow. I suspect they are looking for a smoking gun they can blame on me but since that does not exist I expect they will do the right thing here. More to come.

"the smoking gun" they may be looking for is the last repair (turbo/injector) if done wrong they can back charge the last dealer for the rebuild......!! (workmanship)

I had 2 dealers do that to your dealer 1 was for a turbo and egr tubes that blow up (as in a hole in the hood) 3500 miles after choochoo Volvo put new ones on and 1 for all 6 NEW injectors that went bad 2500 miles after choochoo Volvo did the install because they didn't install them right....

That may be a bit tough since the new turbo FINALLY fixed the regen issue. It turns out the turbo was going bad the whole time. We will see. If they decide an in-frame is the answer, I am going to push hard to have it done at Cummins. Other than a lawsuit, I do not have a lot of leverage and that would not get me rolling anytime soon, if ever, so I do not want to even think of going there. They have been great so far at owning the problem.

That VGT HX55 on the ISX is a piece of trash or better as a paper weight. Whichever you prefer!

Yep!!! Sorry its an HE55V turbo. The HX55 I want to say were on the M11 and the smaller motors. Never the less though, the VGT is crap!!
