I fought the ticket, because I thought I was only doing about 80. Had the speedo re-calibrated....it was 10 mph off at 65 (should have read 75).
Paid $250 to get it knocked down to 83 in a 75.

I had a ding-bat from Michigan pass me on the right shoulder one year in Des Moines after a big blizzard. I think it was 96 or 97. Anyway, traffic had been stopped for hours while they pushed stranded cars into the median so they could plow I-80. When it was opened, it still crawled at about 10MPH for a couple hours. I passed her a few miles up the road. It seems she tried to pass someone else on the left shoulder and got sucked off into the median by a snow drift. As I passed, I rolled down my drivers window, honked and laughed at her as she stood next to her car trying to flag down a wrecker. It took 15 hours to drive from Council Bluffs to Walcott.
