Your "roomates" decision not to take care of herself makes her a liablility. Anyone that is a heftoid, smokes, lives on fast food etc.... Is going to find it very difficult to find and keep meaningful employment in our brave new world.
Face it, being lazy and refusing to take care of ones self will no longer serve you well.

DOT sets the min. medical requirements. Companies are free to set whatever they see fit above those requirements.
I can't say I feel any better after a nights sleep, however I do sleep considerably less. On an average night I would zone out for 9, 10 or more (12 before I started driving). It would take an alarm clock to wake me. Now, I'm averaging 6 to 7 hours and I have to have skipped some sleep to achieve 8 or 9.
It's not a bad deal... Interest free and 55 dollar payments. Wellpoint has the memory card scanners in most of the TAs now. Takes less time than scanning load documents.PainNdaNeck Thanks this. -

I didn't pay one dime up front. I'm almost paid up at $55 a week interest free on the deal... Then again, I was a current employee when my BMI hit that magic number.
There are 4 things the doc looks at to determin if a sleep study is needed. It only takes one for him to pull the trigger.
BMI
Question and Answer survey
Neck size
Oral exam (where the throat, tonsils, tounge and uvula give a overall picture of your airway)
Weight discrimination and the Disability Act is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and I challenge you to find a single successful case. There was a discussion about this late last year and at the time there hadn't been a single favorable ruling for a plaintiff.
DOT sets the min. requirements... If you read the regs, the DOT allows companies to set their own requirements, they just can't lower the bar any lower than DOT min. -
Well this pretty much sums it up at Prime Inc.
