I didn't think it was going to be rebuilt. I heard it burnt down shortly after I left otr for local.
Is the ag check still open? In Barstow? The employees were talking closure when the new scale got built. It opened 1 week after I left otr.bzinger Thanks this. -
As to what really happened who knows ? And we can all Monday morning quarterback it .
Will say I never see those aggregate haulers flying down that hill tho . -

If it is the constant downgrade escape ramp I have in mind at Cajon, then he probably wrestled with that rig all the way down. Ultimately the rocks had a say and probably killed him by mechanical compression (Crushing to where you cannot get breathing)
Ive always considered Cajun one of the more dangerous downgrades. I never had a problem with it myself, but you could easily have a issue if there will be a problem somewhere. At least he took the ramp maybe by his act of taking the ramp where he did prevented that whole thing from killing people at the bottom.Lepton1, mjd4277, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is Cajon any worse than the Grapevine...?
Been up and down Grapevine four times in the past week and half... didn’t touch my service brakes once. 3 stage jake in 9th held at 45-50 the whole way down... believe it’s a 6%
Cajon looks significantly less curvy... inexperience or bad brakes/technique to begin with...bzinger Thanks this. -
Considering many don't bother checking their brakes.
I bet brakes out of adjustment.bzinger Thanks this. -
Cajon isn't nearly as long of a downgrade as the Grapevine and even levels out for a little bit 3/4 of the way down.TIMPTE 527, stwik, 7-UP and 4 others Thank this.
