Oh my goodness, that's unfortunate. Gosh. Thoughts are with his loved ones.
NavigatorWife and DOGSLIFE Thank this. -
We have so many #### cameras around the DCs (and on the trucks too) I'm sure they'll figure it out shortly.

Forget to put in in neutral, and leave it in drive.
The truck won't move for a few minutes,
Just like it was in park.
The longer it sits the more power the engine puts
On it to get it going.
Eventually it overpoweres the brakes and takes off.
This takes a few minutes.
Your lucky if your still sitting in the drives seat to catch it in time.
About a year ago I set my brakes,
Hopped out and walked to the back of the trailer to
Close the doors.
Everything was fine.
When I started closing the 2nd door, the truck took off,
Snatching the door out of my hands.
It was headed straight for a pond behind the customer.
Luckily I left my door open and ran like hell to catch it,
Jump in and stopped it about 10 feet before it was gone.
Scared the crap out of me.
Now I shut it off all the time if I'm not in it.
Drop and hook especially, could easily get crushed or
Ran over in between the truck and trailer. -
What
LongRun John and Lonesome Thank this. -
It'll make a beeping sound as soon as you open the door.
But if your in a hurry and don't pay attention to it, it stays in drive.
We had a driver killed a couple years ago,
He left it in gear, hoped out and was in between the truck and trailer unhooking,
It finally took off and he got run over by the drive axles.
I always shut mine off , dropping and hooking.Last edited: Mar 28, 2022
