WOW, your bringing back good memories. Back when I was driving for Machinery Hauling ( mid 80's ) I drove a 1977 W900 with a 350 cummins cranked up, 13 spd trans, 42" bunk, and torsion bar suspension, ran Boston and back many times in that O'l girl. Of course this was during the time that "square" headlights was becoming a glimpse into the future. Pop bought his first " FACTORY" Largecar back in 1988, it was a 1987 Freightliner, 444 cummins, 15 spd, and a doublebunk sleeper. Most of his largecars were built in his shop, we had a 1975 359, 290 cummins 13 spd daycab, with strongarm steering, last time I drove it Pop had stretched it out and installed air ride suspension, after I got back with it Pop added a big sleeper and power steering, somewhere I have a distant pic of it in a truckstop parking lot, I'll have to dig it up when I get home. But I have to agree on the "square" lights thing, I did'nt care much for them then...they were new....and today, well, I will look at them, but not as quick as I will look at a true oldskool truck with oldskool looks.
Favorite old school truck?

W900A long hood works for me. Best looking truck ever built. Put a seminole paint job on it and it's just beautiful !!
-
Yea its hard to beat that Seminole paint scheme on anything. Put it on a new ride and it gives the new ride a lot different look. Still not the look of them old A's I would love to have one. Especially in the shape of Smokin Cats white and blue one.
SmokinCAT Thanks this. -
How bout a W900A long hood, seminole paint, and a corvette dash. That would have been a great combination. The dash on the old a model was a little flat.
-
guess thats something to think about?
-
If they done that then My old pet wouldn't be anything special lol. The 359 started with a flat dash, but had little windows till 73 so they were special. The 73 to 77 are special cause of 1100 series cab but flat dash. Then in 78 the dash of class till the last ones which includes my 3. I guess as long as I had one of these k-dubs with the corvette dash I could go for it

This is how it was sitting when I first went and looked at it.
Got it home and mother nature gave it a good bath.

I be danged it not white and blue but two tone blue, I'm not totally color blind but am color deficient I guess would be the way to put it. Especially in the shadows. I like it even better now. They don't make them like that any more.
-
Yeah, the lighting in the first picture isn't all that great. I think it is supposed to be the original scheme and colors but not the original paint. The only thing that throws me off is that I have never seen another seminole paint job with the end of the stripes turning upward at the back of the bunk, most are just straight to the back of the bunk.
-
I have seen one marked like that in black and white drawings somewhere on the internet. There was a site of early pete and kw paint schemes just kinda like blue print drawings. I was looking for ideas on my red and black truck. In the end decided I wasn't good enough to lay out what I liked which was close to a seminole but the fronts were tapered off instead of round. I think I was doing just a google search of early Pete or Paccar paint schemes.
