I have read a few responses on Indeed.com of drivers talking about 'favorites' at certain terminals. With bringing that up, I have seen it at some terminals.....but another driver, I ran into, kept saying that's how HP was until recently. I never saw that or paid any attention to it. I've gotten good ones and bad ones. But don't ALL companies(not just trucking...but in general) have 'favorites'? I think it's been that way since the dawn of time. But has anyone else been to terminals and seen this happen? I do know, ALOT of guys have told me that's how Camp Markham works, though.

I don't have a dog in this hunt but by "favorites" do you mean the driver who hauls loads no one else wants to or goes places that others refuse to go? The driver that has a proven record that he will pitch in when needed. Why shouldn't he get some gravy loads tossed his way!

Everyone's glass is half empty or half full. Some folks see negative in every situation. Victim mentality is rampant these days. Best to just do your job and avoid the gossip. Communicate with those who can change the situation if you aren't getting what you need or leave Everyone needs different things. One 3 day load a week and 4 days off is just fine with me at this stage of life. It would cause many others at the terminal to quit. Everyone's different and human nature is that people complain 10 times for every positive comment.

funny you said that last part. I ran into this guy that did NON-STOP complaining about things here, and all I wanted to ask was....uh, why don't you just quit? haha This is another reason why I just keep to myself and don't hang in any of the 'driver's lounges' at terminals. I only go in for bathroom, shower, and coffee....I kind of cringe when people are in there! haha

No, this came up from me going into a terminal just to ask for a 'gate code' for some outside driver to be let in for a tankwash. These, guys kept talking about all the 'favorites' at different terminals....And I'm just needing a code for someone to get into yard for tank wash. Only took 5 minutes before I just went out to truck and looked it up on my gate code sheet. However, it was also funny someone on glassdoor.com said people in Oakbrook 'sleep with each other'! haha I'm guessing that's where the sexual harrassment thing came in. This post was a few years before I came on. I'm sorry, but that video I had to watch just made me laugh on that subject. true, it does happen....but I'm just not that kind of person. But, I have met some people that actually ARE that way.

Anytime you have men and women working together it is possible to develop a more than a co-worker type relationship. I’m too busy trying to stay busy so I can take care of my family, don’t have time for that sleeping with co-workers and stuff like that

Oh I def understand! Before I got into trucking, there was one company I worked at where a few girls 'slept their way up'. Somehow the guy was terminated and the females weren't. Don't miss the regular 'day job' due to dumb issues like that. It happens, but glad it's not a part of what my job deals with.
