They've been doing the same old crap for many years and with the same results...Nothing!
The only ones that take the FCC seriously are the radio nerds that actually think that what the FCC says means anything to anyone but them!
It is mildly entertaining to come here every now and then to read the paranoid rambling of the pocket protecter crowd though...
FriedTater and silentpardner Thank this. -
I'm hardly a nerd, but I do take the FCC seriously because that is how I operate.
The only reason why the FCC hasn't been knocking on the door of your truck like a lot lizard at a truck stop is that you are in a truck and you are probably not bothering anybody.
In my area alone, there have been 3 cbers get visits from the FCC in the last 5 years alone. I am not in a big city. Look up Whitney TX, it is a small town in central Texas. Yet we do get visits from "uncle charlie". None of us Hams turn them in.....Even though they have been known to interfere with our 10m communications. We just move our frequencies. Having HF privileges, we get to talk on many bands LEGALLY.
Just this past year, there is a guy who got busted just 2 blocks away from me. He had one of those export radios and a good size kicker to boot. Needless to say, after his visit, he is talking on a much "smaller" station.
Go look on the FCC website and you will see all sorts of enforcement actions.
As far as being the "pocket protector crowd", don't knock Hams if you ain't tried it......Even us good ole boys can get our tickets....... -
I don't honestly care enough to bother lookin'...It would be nice to see some of the 'tards on base stations dissappear but in the event that they don't I'll just continue to turn down the volume when I hear them just like I do when I get near a truckstop.
The pocket protector crowd consists of anyone that takes this stuff so seriously that they claim that they drive around like morons trying to locate trucks that have illegal radios in them in an effort to get them shut down...I don't really believe they do that but reading the idiocy of some of their posts...I suppose that level of weirdness is possible.
There are a lot of 50 year old guys that sit in their moms basements playing with radios and computers that actually take themselves seriously...While contributing nothing of value to the world. -
WATCH IT I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK
-
Hey! I didn't know you were still here...I thought you'd be out polishing your tin foil hat!
-
DON'T give away my way of getting 2 meter dx the GROUND PLANE HAT
Hardlyevr Thanks this. -
Now that's funny right there!
I have this mental image of you walking around the yard with a big tin foil hat on your head with an antenna sticking straight up out of the middle of it with the radio strapped to your back and the mic in your hand...Talkin' to my old buddy housefly! -
Yep and you would be right ...... -
AGAIN????
I'm gettin' tired of always being right!
