The yard and terminal faired fine. US 77 into Fremont is now open in both directions coming from Lincoln.

Currently waiting on a driver to pick me up and take me to Fremont to get into a loner. Been here 10 days, need to start generating revenue. The way things normally work, my truck will probably get fixed tomorrow. I can’t keep sitting here, getting the maybe tomorrow answer.

More like 14 days of lost revenue. I spent 4 days in a Detroit shop in Omaha on three separate occasions with the same issue two weeks prior. I have a slush fund set aside just for situations like this. So even though the lost revenue sucks, it doesn’t sting as bad as it could, and I won’t go in the hole. Pay my fixed costs out of that fund and even send $800 home to the wife.

You go about it the right way...so many folks never put $$ back like that.

I have two extra cents a mile going into my maintenance account than required per mile, and three cents a mile going into my “slush” fund. My maintenance account sits at $11K and my slush account was sitting at $3400.

So got in a loner yesterday in Fremont, it was spotless on the inside when I got in it. Deadheaded this morning to Sioux City, Iowa and picked up a load going to Utah for a delivery Friday morning. I swung by the shop in North Platte today to get a few more small things out of my truck. The mechanic who has been working on it said he thinks he finally found the issue. One of the times I was at the Detroit shop in Omaha they replaced the doser valve, he said the doser valve the put on there was a remanurfactored part and it was bad. I’m still not convinced, but I guess sometime next week I will get back through there to pick the truck up.

The powers that be here at FCC never cease to amaze me, my hotel bill was $539, Mike (the guy in charge of the Lease program) and Shane (a higher up in maintenance) both told me to send in my receipt and they would reimburse me. I was like “that’s not your responsibility” they insisted. Also while using this loaner, they aren’t charging me a rental fee. I just have to pay for the fuel and DEF. And they gave me the option of rolling a lease payment onto the back of the loan if need be. These folks are first class!
