I would love to have this done and my eye doc says it would help with my astigmatisim but I just cant bring myself to do it yet. Maybe after a few more years of finding out the longer term affects I will finally get it done.
1nonly Thanks this. -
Agreed. It would be so great to be able to see the clock in the middle of the night, and to see while swimming, and not get all speckled in the rain. But as a trucker, if something went wrong with the surgery, I'm out of a job. I keep weighing it out in my mind if it's worth the risk or not.

I didn't have lasik but PRK surgery which more expensive but safer I am happy that I can driver without using my glasses but since DOT rules say you cannot have mono vision I still have to use glasses for up close work, all in all i am happy with the outcome.

I had lasik done back in 2002. I have had no issues whatsoever. I was nearly blind (they didn't even have a number for how bad my vision was) and had astigmatism. There is a waiver you sign before the surgery stating that you may be blind or have halos afterward. As far as dryness, I had dryer eyes BEFORE the surgery. Just after surgery of course they were dry but you are instructed to put drops in your eyes very frequently as they heal.
I recommend getting it done if you can afford it. I see 20/15 now and it's the best thing I ever did for myself. -
Had LASIK in July. It's great. I still look for my glasses on the night satnd every morning when I wake up.
