I had 2 in a 3 week span, one was on the BQE. I had been driving close to 20 years at that point, never happened before or since. No drama other than steering wheel shake.

I also want to point something out, I know we all compain drivers dont stop and help yada yada yada its not like it used to be..

But after watching that video, 3 drivers all pulled to stop to help. When it really does count we normally put all BS aside and have one and others back.

Had my first one few weeks ago. Ran over what turned out to be part of a deer stand. No way to miss it so ran over it. Tire went down quick. Just as I got it stopped tire flopped off rim. Was laying in road back by drives. Was fairly drama free.

New steer from roadside - 1053 bucks. Ow.

No fear. I'll cruise over a bridge with the throttle cable locked down, my feet on the dash, my dog in my lap and one finger on my spinner knob.

I'm more scared of the drivers around me having a blowout.
Especially the guys driving with their knees or eating soup while they're driving.

I like what Alex from Ice road truckers said on the show..

"Sometimes drivers have a lot of fear, what they need to do is just grab the wheel and drive"

kinda dumb, but kinda cool too

Ya my pal was passing a set of shamrock doubles at like one MPH faster...Shamrock blew a steer, ran my pal into the ditch in the median (I-10 between Blythe and Phoenix)...By the time he cleared an 8th mile of mesquite trees and destroyed a pair of decent underware, his tow bill was like 5k...Was down for the count for a couple weeks

Def worry about everyone elses tires too!!

Lost a left front steer about 4 yrs ago on I-10 west close to Biloxi area. Lot of steering wheel shake , and although I was somewhat top heavy it was no problem, just gotta grab it and growl. Towing company ask if a rollback would be ok...??? What? Lol, no I said, listen to what I'm saying man! It is a crane truck equipped with Hi-rail gear, you have to have an axle lift!! The hi-rails are 4ft out in front of the grill. Still took them bringing 3 trucks to get one big enough to lift it up. Truck had 1200:22 tires, oddball for your everyday Truckstop when it's 10:00pm. My biggest fear is having a nitwit that won't listen on the phone.

Not a steer, but Twice in my life. In a Single axle dump truck,
Lost one duel and the other couldn't handle it alone!!!!
My shorts stayed clean but I'm glad I wasn't going any faster!!

First time was old Bias Ply's in the middle of a Hot Sunny Summer Afternoon.
Sounded like bird hunting with a double barrel!
One let go with a good boom "what the hell was that, then BOOM, and drop ta da right....The other let loose too!! Hang on Newt.

Second time middle of winter chained up plowing snow, pushing pretty hard, middle of a good storm, decent drifts , Wind howling, Cold.
Not sure the exact order of "airing down" but come around a corner and the truck felt a little looser than normal but not horrible, start into a good drift, ya don't wanta let out of it and she lays over to the ditch side pretty hard!!!! Get stopped, now I'm not in the ditch yet but it's a sharp, deep one. I know she'd fall all the way over and lay on her side if we found the ditch. Any way I had spun a wheel and broke a valve stem off as well as put a chain hook through the sidewall.

Both times fully freighted and sitting on the rims, on the ditch side, two HUGE YAY!!!s and laying under there with a bottle jack and lots of cribbing blew just as hard at 85 in the shade as at 0 in the snow!!
