Saw an contractor ad looking for driver and stated that they(fed ex) will be going 7 days a week.
Anyone know if this is true?

Could it be because of the holiday season?
Intothesunset and ExOTR Thank this. -
Not sure.
Thought maybe they are rolling w a new business plan to capture more business.
Have they ran all weekend during the holidays before?Intothesunset Thanks this. -
I’ll agree with @JonJon78 about the holidays, or it’s a quick route turnaround route that only has you logging 7-8 hours a day.
JonJon78 and Intothesunset Thank this. -
FedEx is going 7 days a week, p&d + linehaul.
Linehaul side as contractors we are expected to have drivers on alternating schedules now. Such as Sunday thru Thurs, Tuesday thru Saturday. No longer at Monday thru Friday runs going to be much of a thing moving forward.
I doesn't mean drivers will be running 7 days, I just means we contractors have to provide 7 day availability, by doubling our fleets essentially. -
Interesting that Fed Ex is at the front of this change.
Seems as if the world is going 24/7 on a lot of services.
The ad I saw was line haul and mentioned it so I assumed that maybe this was the case.
Any timeline for implementing 7 day service?Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Yes that is what has messed up the cycle. "I have to have it right now". That's what Jack Ma in China said if you can't work 12 hours days you don't qualify for his company. I can only imagine what their getting paid. I'm no longer in a rush I'm off that cycle & its not like what I'm delivering is life or death products. Slow down & enjoy life it's very short and you may miss it.Intothesunset Thanks this.

i read somewhere that UPS will be doing 7 days deliveries and it was not cuz of the holidays, but the rising packages they get.
here it is...from back in July
UPS expands delivery to 7 days, add locations and drone deliveryIntothesunset and Dennixx Thank this. -
when you have shippers such as one example Amazon and next day deliveries, this all adds up. a customer orders a product on a Saturday morning, gets it Sunday morning..they PAY for that next day, but hey, it's a small price to pay, to get something that quick.
