I'm serious man.. That's what happened to me. I came in for the initial , sat down and talked to the terminal manager and I can't remember the other person. They sent my information to human resources for so they could review my background information. In my experience, freight companies never call you in for an interview unless they're going to hire you. The terminal manager makes the decision and not Hr. So you should something from them by either the end of the week or monday if they have any additional questions. You know your background better then anybody else so if you know it's good , you good!

I have a 5 year old misdemeanor for battery. But the app only asked for felonies I believe. Other than that I think it's solid. But I have no forklift experience or pallet jack experience. I told them upfront so hopefully it doesn't kill my chances.

It shouldn't be a problem I knew a couple of guys who worked there that had some old charges including assault and grand theft .Forklift isn't a problem because you will be trained on it regardless.

Well sir all I can do now is wait. I guess I will know for sure once they check references since I regularly talk to my former employer.

Once they make the first interview they will send everything to HR, and if your background runs good, they will call you for a road test. This road test includes vehicle inspection, backing and some driving on a set of doubles (it lasts about two to three hours). They want to make sure you know how to drive. After all that, it is just about paperwork, it could take a couple weeks but they will tell you right away after the road test if you have the position or not.

Pay varies on the city pretty much. Overtime is not guaranteed. They offer ALL fulltime employees at least 32 hours. They will give you more than that but it will depend where you are going to be hired. Is it a hub? if it is, they are always busy and you will get plenty of hours. If it is a really small service center, they take care of their numbers and won't allow over time, but bigger centers don't care because they have a good freight volume to justify their overtime. You should be willing to work on the dock, driving a folklift, but they will train you for all that. They will usually train you for two weeks in the service center on the dock, then they will send you to an out of town class for a week to make sure you are trained properly for paperwork and policies. After that point, you can driver by yourself.

When I took the road test I don't remember if I pulled a set or not, But every terminal is different. I don't remember my road test being an hour at all. I think I just took a simple road test and road around the block and came back.
