Ive been hired with ground in my area for the seasonal gig a barely acceptable hourly rate considering ill be driving a class b truck, after that I saw and applied for and have an interview with fedex freight in my area as an apprentice driver for apparently a local city driver position, as a result I just got my tankers and doubles that they require, didnt quite pass my hazmat test but will soon.
Im curious you drive a daycab but your paid cpm and home daily ? Its hard to picture getting enough mileage that way .
Due to family issues having a local gig is great for me right now, even though my personal desire is to do regional.

I haul fuel local, and even being local If i got paid by the mile I'd still make out decent... maybe lol.

My dispatchers know I like the longer loads since I enjoy the long drive, it's what I miss about OTR.

Anyway, I'm sure the guy you quoted probably does line haul. Which if they run 600 miles or so a day it's just like most OTR guys. They probably drive 300 miles trade trailers then drive 300 back to where they came from.
