    April 14th update:
    Accepted a position with XPO. They hire drivers with no experience (even though I have roughly 6 months). They are willing to train me on a manual - have to get restriction removed in 90 days.
    Also, 90 days to get other endorsements.

    Hourly / cpm. Overtime after 8 hours.
    Dockwork with forklift and driving. 10-12 hrs daily. Monday thru Friday. Home every night. Full benefits on day 1.

    DEFINITELY excited. Thanks for the support everyone.

    Manual is easy to learn. My grandfather taught me to drive when I was 13 yrs old in '55 ford pickup. 3 speed on the tree. No power steering, brakes, or windows. Good luck.

    Have you ever driven a stick shift car or pick up truck? If not.......you are ahead of the game. I went to CDL school five years ago. I am almost 61 years old. I had been driving manual transmission cars/trucks since I was 15 years old. Trying to "unlearn" driving a stick shift in a passenger vehicle about sent me to the funny farm! You will need to learn to double clutch to get your CDL in most States. If XPO has 3rd party testers, I'm sure they do, just test out the way you were taught.

    Used to, if you wanted an automatic transmission in a car, had to special order it.
    Now, have to special order to get a stick shift.

    Yea I've actually owned a few stick vehicles so I'll have to learn the double clutch

    Yup.....welcome to 2021! I drove VW Beetles and Toyota Pickups from 1976- the mid 90's. Never could afford one of those "fancy" automatics. Lol
