I am looking to become a contractor, I already have trucks, insurance and all other things needed. Just looking for routes for sale, or contracts that are available.

Just go down to the hub in hutchins and talk to them. TheY will let you fill the app out and put you in touch with a contractor who's hiring.
I run dedicated route from Nashville and stop there every wed. Lots of good routes out of there just stay away from running wild board. Trust me -
I am coming from a background in the bread route business. I am now looking to get into a fedex line haul route. Does anyone have any advise or expertise on where to start?

Go to the hub and apply for line haul driver. Find a contractor hiring on Craigslist or ask aroUnd hub. Once your in Fedex system it’s a matter of filling out how many you wanna claim on taxes and getting tossed the keys

I think you gotta find someone who’s selling a route. Can find routes for sale across internet. I don’t know exactly how it works but my last guy had trucks running wild board until he could get a bid but he bought another guy out and took over his dedicated runs. So he had both. I’m not exactly sure how it works though -
Call the local hub. In Dallas located in Lancaster. Use the number you find online, not on Google maps. Tell them what you told us. Buying routes from other contractors is a viable option. But spendy. I know our boss shelled out close to a quarter million to get a few routes and a pool of points. If you choose to put trucks on and have them pick up the slush (called running wild or over the wheel) you begin earning points for every successful pick up and delivery. Repowers give bonus points. This is how most guys get their foot in the door. You use those points to bid on routes as they become available in house. Some less desirable routes in Ohio go for as little as 100 points. Desirable routes get into the thousands. If you're cash heavy, another contractor might be selling some routes.
By calling the hub, you get a contact inside fedex ground to give you solid current numbers and they will put you in touch with a few local contractors. They will also have info on who is trying to get rid of their FXG business and routes. It's a good resource. The owners themselves will know in your area, too.
I've run for both FXG and FXCC.
Good luck,
Miss ELoneCowboy Thanks this. -

It depends what you're looking for. Are you an owner or a driver? I am a driver that helped build a fleet at FXG, Amazon and FXCC. As far as FXG goes... you need to have multiple units to sign on. They will have you install ELDs and front and driver facing cameras. They also mandated a 65 mph speed limit. It can be expensive to get into as I mentioned above. The vast majority of their runs are teams.
Why am I leaving? As a previous o/o I miss calling my own shots. Doing the proper maintenance to the truck and having better control over my schedule than sitting in a parking lot at someone else's whim. My truck gets delivered next week. We'll be heading out next month.
