Thank you everyone. Your well wishes mean the world to me. Though my previous company went down the tubes like a lead balloon, I did have a positive experience there. My only regret is that this opportunity didn’t present itself a few years earlier. Though I’m not one to get into hotels, reimbursements, and other things, suffice it to say, I’m being well compensated and taken care of. The only issue, was because of the holiday, I have to spend an extra day here. So instead of being done Wednesday, I’ll be done Thursday. I rented a Ford Explorer in Richmond for the drive here. Let me tell you, sitting in an SUV and dealing with big trucks and 4 wheelers for 800 miles is a whole different experience.
I know there are some FedEx Ground Linehaul drivers on the blog, I hope they become a part of this thread. I have no problem learning and being helped with this new gig. I remember when I was looking at my previous company, @runningman0661 who was there when I got there, was an invaluable source of help. To this day I always think about his help and guidance.Coolcrazydan71, surf_avenue, gntorres61 and 16 others Thank this. -
After my first winter driving semi last winter, you all can have your doubles. I was behind two fedex captains and watched their piggies whip out 15-25 degrees. Glad i didn't stop at Denny's those days.Bumper, JohnBoy, Albertaflatbed and 1 other person Thank this. -
